Museum of the tropical research & cultural institute, with regularly changing temporary exhibitions....
The institute was established in 1864 by the Dutch government to support research and education related to its tropical colonies, particularly Indonesia. The current building, completed in 1926, features a late neo-Renaissance architectural style. Until the mid-20th century, the institute served as a center for academic and applied research. Today, it functions as a hub for education, culture, and social innovation.
Such an impressive building, was attending a conference over two days in such beautiful, stunning well decorated building, has a massive conference room with impressive wooden ceiling, and many rooms in the ground floor which were used for different workshops related to the conference. Many statues and sculptures in the walls, stairs, feeling like you are walking in a museum. The toilets tiles and decorations were really impressive. Staff were really lovely and super friendly, the food was delicious with wide variety to suit all tastes. And flowers on tables and windows everyday were so beautiful.. Thank you all the staff for your hospitality and such lovely experience visiting such stunning building.
Nice place. The entrance was not very clear; the signs to enter the theatre directed you to the wrong entrance. Although once inside, it is beautiful. The theater is small but cute, and the seats are comfortable. The building is beautiful.
Been coming here since I was a little Leon exploring de Tropen, and basically feeling like a world traveler 😂. It was fun to now attend swanky evening events at this venue I used to run around in as a kid.
This is the amazing school where I got a chance to do a short course on Analysing Disrupted Health Systems and I really had a great time. It reminded me of my decade old memories of graduate school and the KIT architecture is nothing short of exhilarating 🌞
