I generally liked the sandwich and the smoothie I ordered, and the quality of the food was quite good. However, the portion size of the sandwich was rather small considering the price. The staff were quite friendly, which I appreciated. That said, the tables were not being cleaned, which made the place look messy. There were also no trash cans available, so customers were unable to clear away their own waste. Additionally, even though we mentioned that we were eating in, everything was still served in takeaway packaging. This felt quite wasteful to me, especially since the smoothie came in a plastic container. I also would have preferred to receive my sandwich on a plate, as I chose to sit and eat in. Overall, the food and the staff were good, but considering the price point, the service and portion sizes did not meet the standard I would expect.
Possibly the most spacious café I’ve seen in Amsterdam in my five years here. Plenty of room to sit, think, and question your life choices. Yes, the queue can get long—but it was literally one guy running the show. Respect. Taste is exactly what you expect from Joe & The Juice. Consistent, familiar, and no surprises. Which, honestly, is sometimes the point.
Yesterday I got helped by Rafael and Daria. They provided me with excellent and warm service, and even though it’s not my main location, I’m definitely coming back! The open space is handy as well compared to other joes.
I was very happy when i saw this franchise is coming to the area. I like their drinks and food. But not in this location. Some of the people working there are fine, but unfortunately its just couple of them. The rest is super unprofessional, having no clue what/how to prepare things, often too overwhelmed and irritated. Once barista was even rolling his eyes on my request not to add any syrup. Many times i came after busy rush hours and i had to wait for my ice latte (which takes literally 45 seconds to make) for more then 15min, while they were cleaning and pottering around. And whats up with their prices? Why all other J&J charge me one amount but here they charge 20-30 cents more, even though on their wall menu prices are same as everywhere else! They explain that their system has been changed. What?? Excuse me, but are you aware that these actions are not legal? I can easily invite an agent from consumer law association and your place will be heavily fined for this? So overall, i stopped going there. I rather spend my money in Stach near by or even Albert Hejn seems better at this point. Regards. L.
