This restaurant is one of our favorite places for breakfast. In this café, everything feels welcoming and cozy from the moment you walk in. The service is always excellent — friendly, attentive, and professional. The food is delicious, offering classic breakfast dishes with subtle Asian touches that make the flavors truly special and unique. We really love this place and visit it very often. It never disappoints and always delivers a wonderful breakfast experience. Highly recommended!
Bà-Lâm Coffee (Karlín, Urxova St.) — this is “new-gen Vietnam” done right: global brunch comfort food, executed with that Vietnamese precision where every detail feels intentional. I’ve been three times — and the pattern is consistent. On weekends it’s packed, because the quality is real. If you hate waiting, reserve. The moment you walk in, you feel taken care of: they seat you, they track you, they’re present — but never annoying. That’s my kind of service. Last visit was a weekend, two of us, a friendly business catch-up that turned into a three-hour hang — because the place supports that rhythm. First win: a carafe of water for two at a normal price. In Prague, that alone is a statement. Food: • I had the Turkish eggs — delicate, perfectly seasoned, and (this matters) everything hits the same temperature logic. Nothing cold fighting warm on the plate. It just works. • My friend had the shakshuka — and I love that this “Kraków brunch classic” is now living happily in Prague, and they do it properly here. • And the bread… you have to finish it. Even if you’re full. That’s the rule. Coffee: I went with a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk — basically dessert in a cup, and it actually tastes like real Vietnamese coffee (the kind you’d drink at home if you’re into it). Vibe: cozy, well-used space, noise level is “alive but not chaotic.” Perfect for weekend brunch, a date (2nd/3rd date energy), or a business meeting that you want to feel human. Rating: 5/5. Fair pricing for what you get, great service, and a menu that feels curated instead of confused. If you’re in Karlín and you want brunch that’s genuinely dialed in — this is it.
All the dishes we tried were incredibly delicious whether sweet or savory, everything was amazing. The jasmine tea and the coffee were excellent, and the staff was ultra friendly. We will definitely come back!
A great breakfast/brunch place with tasty Vietnamese coffee. I only had the full English breakfast so I can only judge the food based on that. Whilst good overall, I have had better ones especially considering the price. In winter, the place also gets steamy since it seems there is little to no ventilation.
4.8/5 BA-LAM is a small, atmospheric café that serves some of the most satisfying breakfasts around. The toasts are thoughtfully composed, each combination of ingredients carefully balanced and genuinely distinctive. Presentation is refined yet inviting—every plate feels considered without ever crossing into pretension. Is it worth a visit? Absolutely.
