Megan’s in Islington was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavour, you can really tell they care about quality. What stood out even more was the service. I asked if a small change could be made to my dish and it was done immediately, with no hesitation or fuss at all, which I really appreciated. A special mention has to go to our waiter, Seb, who was brilliant. He was attentive without being intrusive, checked in on us at just the right moments, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. The atmosphere was also wonderful, warm, relaxed, and lively, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Overall, a really great dining experience and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
Megan’s is one of my favourite places to eat with someone with intolerances. All the staff were meticulous with my intolerances and checked everything with the kitchen. Special mention to Gabriela, who really looked after us over brunch. She is an asset. The food is insane. Love it here! 😸
I recently visited Meghan’s and had a lovely experience that truly lived up to the positive reputation often associated with places like Turkish Feast. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The food was fresh, flavourful, and generously portioned. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, with great attention to presentation and taste. The menu offers a great mix of vibrant Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and each plate felt both comforting and elevated. A special thank you to Nada, who was an excellent waiter. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her warm and professional service really enhanced the overall experience. Danny was awesome too! Overall, a fantastic dining experience, delicious food, cosy ambience, and outstanding service. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to others.
A great place for breakfast/brunch. They have a great deal of coffee and brunch before 11 am Monday to Thursday and before 10 am Friday to Sunday. Fantastic shakshuka. Danny is a great manager and excellent at looking after guests. The atmosphere is like a relaxed living room, although I probably go to Megahn's when it is quieter. A great pick-me-up during the Winter months in London!
I hadn’t been to Megan’s at The Sorting Office since around 2022, but I remembered having such a lovely experience back then. The ambience, décor, and food were great, which is why I chose it again for a catch-up with a friend just before Christmas. Unfortunately, this visit was a real disappointment. When I first arrived, the initial waiter was polite and asked if I wanted tap water for the table. I said yes, but the water never arrived. Once my friend joined me, another waiter took over, who I believe was called Michael and appeared to be more of a floor manager. From the outset, his energy felt cold and unwelcoming, as though we were an inconvenience. We asked to sample two wines, but only one glass was brought each time. He also commented that I needed to remove my bottle of Coke from the table, which came across as unnecessarily abrupt and patronising. His overall manner felt dismissive throughout. When ordering, he tried to upsell starters and breads, which we declined, opting only for calamari. By this point, our wine had arrived, but we still had not received the tap water. The food itself was underwhelming. I ordered the turkey Christmas special with sweet potato fries, and my friend had a lamb flatbread with fries. Her fries arrived cold. When asked if everything was okay, my friend politely mentioned this. Instead of a warm or apologetic response, the reaction felt disengaged and defensive. A replacement was eventually offered, but it felt like an inconvenience rather than a genuine attempt to resolve the issue. The restaurant was also surprisingly empty, which added to the flat atmosphere. Between the service and the quality of the food, it put a dampener on the entire experience. We did not stay for dessert, and I left feeling disappointed, especially as this was the place I had chosen. It is genuinely sad to say that compared to how memorable this restaurant once was, the standards, particularly around service, appear to have slipped. I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
